About Me

I am an astrobiologist, seeking to understand and learn the emergence of life on the Earth and Beyond.

My journey in the field began at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena California. There I began to learn the biota that lived in the extreme environments of the sea floor, enduring extreme temperatures and pressures, all thriving in and around the the deep sea hydrothermal vents. All the factors indicated that life may have had its origins in these energetic environments. I seek to recreate these environments in an artificial laboratory setting and investigate how matter evolved to life.
